2010 SUMMER ECLIPSE SPECIAL

What the June-July cardinal event has in store for you...

The entry of Uranus into your sign late last month signalled the start of a brand new seven-year cycle for those with the Sun or Ascendant in Aries. Personal goals, attitudes, and even your appearance could now begin to undergo sudden and rather unexpected changes. A first taste of what might lie ahead comes on the 8th of June, when Jupiter and Uranus meet in a conjunction in Aries. This is likely to awaken in you a feeling of restlessness and a hunger for immediate changes in your personal life and how you conduct yourself in the world. However, try not to be too hasty - a set of eclipses, together with the alignment of several major planets, will set in motion a series of majorly transformative events from unexpected quarters over the summer.  The first of these, a partial lunar eclipse on the 26th of June, is likely to lead to adjustments in work or career plans, possibly due to a family tragedy or lifestyle decision. Taking place during a Full Moon, it seems these decisions could involve a letting go or culmination of a situation you’ve been working towards for some time. The eclipsed Moon will also form a conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn, indicating deeply emotional, possibly extreme developments that call for drastic decisions.  Both planets will also form a square to Jupiter and Uranus in Aries - suggesting that your desire to explore new avenues of personal expansion will be strong now, but possibly hindered by unforeseen circumstances that crop up at the time of the lunar eclipse. In addition, because of several hard angles to the Sun in Cancer, you may be forced to put your needs aside for the good of your family, home or lifestyle. A great deal of discussion and soul-searching is likely to go into making any final decisions, thanks to the proximity of Mercury to the Sun at this time. On top of all this, both the Sun and Pluto will be making a square to Saturn in the final degrees of Virgo, implying possible obstacles to change coming from your current working environment, health or structures related to everyday life. Whatever your dilemma, it is likely to unleash some very powerful emotions within you, so expect to feel rather torn between public desires and private wishes; and, between work and family. The second event, a total solar eclipse on the 11th of July, takes place during a New Moon in Cancer, indicating that this is a good time to begin a new phase in family, home, real estate or lifestyle matters. You may want to think back to the eclipses around New Year to see if you can detect any similar themes at work now. Unlike the first eclipse, though, head and heart are likely to be more in sync, helping you cope with outside pressures, especially from harsh authority figures or heavy-handed individuals in the work place or public domain. Whilst the difficult dilemmas symbolised by Saturn and Jupiter-Uranus are still likely to be causing tension, a helpful sextile angle between the Sun, Moon and your ruler, Mars, is likely to boost your confidence, making you feel more decisive and certain of your position than you may have felt during June. The overall planetary themes at work over the summer seem to imply that it might be wise to put family and home life before fame, career or worldly recognition for now. However impatient you may be to shake up the status quo, this may not be the time. Force changes now and you will only have to make revisions when Uranus retrogrades back into Pisces mid August, or worse, court scandal or treachery from enemies. For now, focus on reforming working relationships and habits, as well as improving health and lifestyle, despite pressure from above. A tumultuous time, but one in which you can choose to make changes for the better.
