The London Project
Some of you may already be familiar with my
horoscopes and have read the columns I wrote in 2005-6,
which were hosted on
The London Project.
Sadly, this website is no longer in operation. However, I
have managed to save some of my old pages, which you can
access by clicking on the link above.
Many of you commented on how interesting you found the
articles on the
Astrology of London, so I have included them on my
website.
Some musings on the Philosophy of Astrology
You may wonder why I have decided to use the motto
‘As Above, So Below’. Many of you will be familiar with the mystical
figure of Hermes Trismegistus and the mysterious body of writings
that has come to be known as the Corpus Hermeticum, but for
those of you who don’t know, it is an ancient hermetic expression
linked to the ancient idea that everything in the Universe is
connected - that all life on earth, including man and nature,
which makes up the Microcosm, is simply a reflection of the Heavenly
Macrocosm - the divine sphere where planets, angels and gods
reside.
Astrology is also about the two separate but
interconnected worlds, the inner psychological world of thoughts &
feelings, desires & fears; and the outer material world of events
and things. Connecting everything is spirit, consciousness or soul
energy. Or what the ancient Greek & Renaissance philosophers have
called the Anima Mundi (Soul of the World.) Modern quantum
physicists are now starting to confirm that this may indeed be how
reality works - new ideas such as field theory appear to be bearing
this out.
Our bodies are not mere physical entities, but layers
of energy, stretching up to ever-higher levels of consciousness. We
are not merely human beings but eternal souls who participate and
are constantly connected with divine forces which permeate the
cosmos. In this way, Astrology can be seen to show us our connection
to the hidden order of the Universe - to reveal or uncover the Web
of energy that interconnects everything - something that Quantum
physics is only just starting to discover.
All of us are here for a specific reason - to
learn particular lessons, make a contribution. share a unique gift
or perspective - and each of us is a piece of the puzzle that
makes up a larger picture or divine plan.
In this way, Astrology can help us understand our place in the
larger pattern or scheme of things, reveal our life or soul's chosen
path and help put us back in a relationship with the bigger picture.
Starting with the natal chart, Astrology can help us to understand
ourselves and others better, and help us uncover our life purpose or
areas we have chosen to grow in. 'Know Thyself' was the motto carved
into the entrance of the Oracle at Delphi and self-gnosis is truly
the path to growth, self-actualisation and wisdom.
