AUGUST-SEPTEMBER 2007 ECLIPSES

The second set of eclipses happening in 2007 fall in Pisces and Virgo and occur on the 28th of August and the 11th of September 2007. Here's a quick breakdown of the possible effects they may have on your life...

The August-September Eclipses

On the 28th of August and the 11th of September, we will experience our second set of eclipses for 2007, a lunar eclipse in Pisces, followed by an partial solar eclipse in Virgo. This eclipse series will fall in the reverse order sings of the March eclipses, but the SAME order as last year's September eclipses....this has the effect of balancing out the energies experienced six months ago in March, but also returning to themes raised a year ago during September 2006.

As you are probably already aware, Virgo and Pisces sit exactly 180 degrees apart from each other on the astrological wheel which means that they represent diametrically opposite energies. However there is often a common thread which links them. In this case it is the need to serve or sacrifice themselves for a great purpose. Virgo is all about making the choice to be useful to others. Often Virgos are workaholics who will give up their personal time and energy to help their bosses or company succeed. Pisceans are less concerned about work. Instead they value caring for others or spiritual matters. They tend to sacrifice themselves for the good of humanity, getting involved in charities and helping the sick in hospitals and similar institutions, or devote themselves to a higher cause such as a religious ideal. In some way their service tends to be towards the group or whole of society whereas a Virgo's idea of service tends to be more individualised or personal, more specifically-aimed...

However both signs are also very different. Virgo is an earth sign and therefore more concerned with practical matters such as health, diet, getting the job done or planning things down to the finest details. Pisces, ruled by the planet Neptune, is a water sign and therefore more emotional and dreamy than Virgo. Pisces is less concerned about the detail and more with how to merge with the whole, rise above the limitations of the physical body, as well as mass or group-type activities. With the Virgo/Pisces axis activated from August 2007, you will be learning important lessons about work-life balance, ecology, the body vs the spirit, the details vs the overview and the many ways to be of service or use to a greater cause.

Just a reminder that eclipses don’t always make themselves felt straight away – occasionally they have a delayed effect. It may therefore be worth your while to note what happens a month to the day later for the solar eclipse and what happens at the next Full Moon with a lunar eclipse. For this eclipse, that means watch the 11th of October (New Moon) and the 26th of October (Full Moon)...

General Theme

According to Australian astrologer, Bernadette Brady, this eclipse series is associated with issues of health and loved ones, as well as paperwork and communication. See my Recent & Future Eclipses column for more information…
